Hi! Welcome to the Streets Hill Miniatures website.
My name is Liz Smith and I live, surrounded by most of my family (although not in the same house), in a pretty, rural, Bedfordshire village.
The Potting Shed Rodents range of miniatures has evolved over the recent years into the little souls who keep me (and it seems you) so amused. Born from a piece of leftover clay (and a couple of glasses of wine) they have developed into their own little characters and are named after friends at work (yes, they do know and....no, they don't mind).
Matthew and Garry (the rats and original Potting Shed Rodents) and, more recently, Bernard (the mouse), have been appearing regularly on ebay and over time have developed their own little
 personalities and traits - none of which bear any resemblence to their real counterparts.....much......
I am helped in my efforts by Himself (the husband) who oversees my efforts with various electric equipment/apparatus (I may not be an expert but I'm not the one with a plaster on my thumb!); the son-in-law person who turns fabulous wooden barrels, bowls and buckets for me (please don't tell him I said that - there'll be no living with him) and my daughter who constantly encourages me to sell, make and branch out (hence this website), not forgetting my son who looks at my work, smiles, raises one eyebrow (how does he do that?) and declares me terminally 'odd'.Lastly, I am wonderfully hindered by my two grandchildren, Sammi-Anne and Jake without whom I probably would never have even started any of this.....
